END LESS WELDING ROLLING

The endless welding rolling has been successfully commissioned in a rolling mill in Japan.

The billet discharged from the furnace is butt welded with each other, end to end. The end less billet so created is rolled continuously in the mill .

Increase of over all yield can be envisaged.


DANIELI END LESS CASTING ROLLING (ECR)

The Danieli ECR has been commissioned at ABS Udine, ITALY. Taking a cue from Thin Slab casting or Compact strip rolling (CSR) In flat products, Danieli has commissioned ECR at Acciaierie Bertoli Safau at Udine, ITALY.

The whole heat from 90 Tons EAF is made into a single billet 160x200mm size and taken through tunnel furnace to be rolled into special steel bars in a 17 stand vertical- horizontal mill.

All aspects of metallurgy are taken care of in line to produce a sound and defect free product. With the help of Kocks RSB 3 roll block the size of the bar is so accurate that with a little exaggeration it can be said that it is as good as turned bar.
